It is our intent to make this chassis registry the most accurate reference
anywhere in the world. We know, however, that this registry will be a
living work, not just an archive, that will evolve as the often complex
historical facts of these wonderful machines present themselves.
It also must be noted that determining the definitive history of some
962s is extremely difficult. When these wonderful cars were raced, for
instance, damaged chassis were sometimes replaced while also being repaired
for use as a spare or in another car altogother.
In our sleuthing, we will use any credible source and balance the conclusions
as fairly and accurately as possible. We fully appreciate that there will
be disputes as to the history of some chassis numbers and welcome any
additional background, corrections, and/or updates that you might have
to submit.
