Competition Highlights:

Chassis Notes: Current car made by Joachim Grossman from scrapped chassis and bodywork believed to have been the original 021 chassis (crashed at LeMans). Amazingly, he found the parts at a scrap iron facility (aka junkyard) in Karlsruhe. Grossmann purchased the remaining parts for only 20,000 DM and built a road-going supercar with no support from Porsche. It took him two years and numerous modfications including lights and indicators, heating system, exhaust, noise reduction, homolgation for the tyres etc. He got the road registration on June, 3 1977.

06-13+14-70, LE MANS 24 HOURS (#18, VAN LENNEP-PIPER, DNF-CRASH, 11th IN QUALIFY-3:29.4, GOODYEAR TIRES) THE CARS WAS BADLY DAMAGED IN A CRASH AND RETURNED AT FACTORY TO BE REBUILT. BECOUSE OF THE RUSH WAS EASIER TO RENUMBER THE CHASSIS -012 (SPARE) INTO CHASSIS -021

06-28-70, NORISRING NUREMBURG 200 MILES (#8, GIJS VAN LENNEP, 2nd-82 LAPS IN 1h 48m 31.3s, 2nd IN QUALIFY-1:17.3). BECOUSE THE CAR WAS JUST RETURNED FROM FACTORY REPAIRS, IT RAN AT NORISRING WITH WHITE NOSE AND WHITE DOORS.

THE CAR WAS REPAINTED PURPLE WITH GREEN "PSICADELIQUE" ACCENTS. SOMETIMES ENTERED AS "MARTINI RACING":

FOR 1971 MOST PARTS WERE USED ON THE SPYDER CHASSIS THAT WAS GIVEN THE SPECIAL DESIGNATION 01-021. THE ORIGINAL COUPE BODY AND CHASSIS WERE RECONSTRUCTED IN THE MID `70s (SOLD TO MR. DON MARSH,OHIO-USA).
